Shaplands Barn

A barn attached to a farmhouse at Cold Ashton. The barn has been converted into holiday accommodation, involving a new first floor structure over part of the main floor plan. Major repairs were required to the trusses, using traditional techniques. Stitch details were required to prevent movement between the farmhouse and the barn – doubly important as the farmhouse itself had been the subject of some rather poor quality work in the post-war years, so the project needed to ensure the future stability of both structures.

In order to ensure that the scheme was completed within budget, Structurelle worked closely with the client throughout the lifetime of the project. The budget required that the client supervised the site work with our support.
